Hello- I'm Sarah, an Illinois native, living in Washington, DC. I oversee all wine operations for The Square, a chef-curated food hall and marketplace in the heart of downtown. You can typically find me at Casa Teresa, Chef Ruben Garcia’s flagship Catalan-style restaurant. If not there, I am likely educating guests on all things wine at Shoal’s Market- a wine, spirits, and fresh goods marketplace in The Square.
Growing up in the Midwest instilled a deep appreciation for quality and craftsmanship, values I carry into my passion for wine. Now, living in a city known for its rich cultural and culinary diversity, I find inspiration through creating wine selections that honor both tradition and innovation. Whether it’s a rare vintage or an exciting new producer, I aim to create a sense of discovery and enjoyment with every bottle.
I am a dynamic and engaging wine professional in wine & spirits programming, education, and restaurant & event management. As an experienced sommelier and program director, I have managed all levels of operations, from launching new restaurant concepts to overseeing large-scale developments. I am passionate about innovation and eager to apply my skills to advance in the wine and spirits industry.
